| At Griffin W. Okie Hardwood Design, we make joints the "old fashioned way"-- we cut 'em. All our joinery is of the wood-to-wood variety with no metal fasteners, screws or nails. With many of our carcase joints, such as dovetails, mitres with splines, or tongue and groove, we use modern glues for a permanent bond. With some of our bases and table-leg joints, we use mortise and tenon joints with a wedge. This allows simpler transport, yet when the base is assembled it is incredibly strong, and self-tightens, if necessary | |||||
